Hello and Welcome to my blog. My name is Harry K. I have been collecting music for over 25 years and I recently decided to start this blog page.
This blog will be a reference and information discography for Capitol LP'S, from 1968 thru 1984 by Label, Title, Number and year of release. I will start with my personal collection and build from there. LP's that were re-released will also make this survey. I will be cataloging in numerical order, LP'S from 101 to 999 and from 11000 thru 12999 with letter prefixes for this Capitol discography blog. In time there may be a Capitol Records Discography Part 3
The Disclaimer Note. I will not be listing every LP that was ever pressed. This will in no way be a complete survey as there are LP's that never made any music charts or any record collector catalogs, as well as import titles that will not be included in this reference discography. This is mainly as I just stated for reference and information purposes. If you would like more information on this blog, please post a note. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Please be patient. Also, I am not affiliated with Capitol, EMI or any of it's subsidiaries. I do not own a record store(although the thought has crossed my mind for the last 20 years). I am doing this for fun and because I love music.

A Brief History Of Capitol Records Part 2.
Founded in 1942 by Glenn Wallachs, Johnny Mercer and Buddy DeSylva. The tower at Hollywood and Vine, built in 1955 was nicknamed "The House that Nat (Nat King Cole) built". Some Early Artists besides Nat, were Stan Kenton, Peggy Lee, Jackie Gleason, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, The Four Freshman, The Kingston Trio, The Letterman, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Peter and Gordon, Nancy Wilson and the list goes on and on.
With the formation of the Beatles’ Apple Records Label in the fall of 1968, and release of the “White Album” numbered 101, Capitol in its’ infinite wisdom (I’m being sarcastic of course), went back to assigning LP’S with 3 digit numbers 101 - 999 from 1968 to 1972. During 1972, Capitol switched channels again assigning LP’S beginning with the number 11001. Also the Special Markets Albums Prefix (SM) made its debut this era. Capitol Special Markets were budget line Reissued LP’S, and in some cases, containing fewer tracks than the original album.
My sources for this survey come from the following:
My Personal Album Collection
Goldmine Standard Catalog of American Records 1950-1975 by Tim Neely 5th edition.
Respective Artists Websites, those who list LP releases and not CD listings and EBAY
-
The Survey will be listed by Label, Prefix, Number, Artist (s), Title and Year Of Release
THIS SITE IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION. COMPILING THIS LIST WILL TAKE TIME. SOME TITLES ARE POSTED. CLICK ON THE "CAPITOL RECORDS DISCOGRAPHY Part 2" LINK

I wonder if you can help me? I am not sure how you have catalogued all this music, but, all i can find is capitol h 478 love songs italiane, 1954 PART 2 where is PART 1?
You see, it is my father singing, and I know his favourite Italian songs, most of which are not on here!! so they must be on a rare unreleased part one... George Greeley was the orchestra.. but why only part 2?
I'm looking for a picture of an album. It is on Capitol DT 927, stereo. The name is Dance Craze. I've no idea of date.
